I am working class, and have the fresh calluses to prove it. Calluses first from farming, then fishing, and finally construction.
As a fisherman, I have visited almost every port, from San Francisco to Nome, Alaska.
I understand, and have been actively involved in, the Port of Bellingham policies for decades.
I understand that the Port of Bellingham, is in reality, the “Port of Whatcom County” and should focus on the broader Whatcom County economy.
I understand public trust, and how important it is. When one employee at the Port began misleading the public about the cost of a new marina in 2004, I dug deep into the Port financial statements, and busted this employee for misleading the public. (Port documents understated the cost of a new marina by almost $40,000,000)
I would be honored to have your vote.
